New Work
Using Floriography, the Victorian language of flowers, this slightly subversive bouquet is a Pandora's Box of blooms representing arrogance, fickleness, bitterness, anger, foolishness and deceit. There are also, like Pandora's box, small flickers of hope, consolation and courage.
Whispering Petals was woven in response to the loud, unremitting, harsh and sometimes violent messages in the news cycle while the weaver pondered the strength of her own voice, by time and circumstance required to be as gentle, restrained and sneaky as that of a Victorian lady.
